Before you commence cleaning your bath tub, be sure to know the type of bath tub you have, to avoid damaging your tub.
Once you have distinguished your tub type, clean with the following products:
PORCELAIN (stone like) – Rub with a sponge and slightly abrasive powder e.g AJAX
ACRYLIC (plastic like) – Wash with a simple dish washing liquid and do not rub harshly, as the bath tub will scratch.
ENAMEL (older tubs/easy to rust) – Soak stubborn stains for an hour with Shampoo and rinse off with a soft sponge.
Rinse thoroughly to avoid any slips!
