How to Sort Your Laundry
Is your laundry a nicely organised room, or a place where you toss dirty clothes in the hope that they’ll magically wash themselves?
For many people, the laundry is a source of frustration with a seemingly never-ending pile of washing to be done. However, we’re here to tell you that with a few small tweaks, you too, can have a well sorted laundry that you won’t mind the sight of.

Get yourself two washing baskets
Our first big rule when it comes to laundry organisation is ensuring you’re using at least two washing baskets – one for dark clothing and one for white clothing. What this means is that you and your family can separate your dirty clothes when placing them in the laundry so they’re ready for washing in an instant.
It may not seem like much, but the time saved really does add up!
Store washing powder in glass jars
A great way to create order and calm within the laundry is to store products in glass jars or large plastic containers. Not only do they look great when placed on shelves and labelled, but they will keep your washing powder fresh and free from dust.
Create a lost and found box
Are you always finding odd socks in the laundry? Consider creating a lost and found box where you can place all separated items. This way your family will know where to look when their favourite sock is missing its pair.
Use vertical storage
The laundry is often the place where we keep our ironing board or other miscellaneous items such as indoor brooms. Keep it nice and sorted by investing in vertical storage such as hooks for back of doors or walls. This will keep small humans from running into items and ensure your laundry is sorted at all times too.
The same goes for clothes that are used frequently or cleaning products. These can be stored on wall shelves or hooks inside of cupboard doors.
Plus, the extra space is sure to come in handy when folding or sorting washing.
Have we convinced you to sort your laundry? We sure hope so!
