Mother's Day

Mother’s Day is just around the corner – but knowing how to show mum you care is not always the easiest decision. Thankfully, we’ve rounded up a list of nice things you can do around the house to show mum, just how special this is this Mother’s Day.

Organise your bedroom

If you’re still living under the same roof as your mum take matters into your own hands and ensure your bedroom is 100% organised. This means decluttering your wardrobe, removing rubbish and generally ensuring it’s a place for living and thriving.

The same goes for husbands and wives. Ensuring the woman in your life has a clean and sorted bedroom can work wonders in showing how much you care.

Sort the pantry

The pantry is one of those places that can get out of control – fast. If the mum in your life is the main chef of the house, do her a favour by sorting the pantry and removing items that are past their use by date, or that you simply know will never be eaten. Also consider doing a grocery shop for the week following Mother’s Day – she’ll love having the extra hour to relax.

Do the washing

Who does the washing in your house? Is it mum? If you answered yes, it’s time to give her a break by doing the washing this weekend. Don’t forget to get the ironing sorted too!

Give her a day off

Our biggest and last point will have the most impact. We recommend giving mum a whole day off this Mother’s Day by taking control of the household and doing all the chores she would normally do. This can include preparing meals, organising the kids, tidying up, washing, cleaning, the list really is endless.

If you really want her to know that you care, we also suggest preparing a breakfast in bed of her favourite morning foods (don’t just slop cereal in a bowl), letting her sleep in and have a leisurely start to the day.

Of course, these are all things you can do on any day of the year. But it’s Mother’s Day. So go on, make it a special one!
