cleaning products

With so many cleaning products in our homes these days, it can be difficult to find what you need.

It can be even more of a struggle to keep these products sorted.

Luckily for you, we’ve come up with a list of handy ideas to sort your cleaning products and keep your family safe.

1. Create a cleaning cupboard or area

The easiest way to sort your cleaning products is to designate a cupboard or area, like a corner of the laundry, for this purpose.

2. Hang spray bottles on a towel rod within a cupboard

A great way to organise and save space is to hang spray bottles on a towel rod within a cupboard or beneath the sink. This works especially well for the laundry and kitchen, as it allows you to store extra products beneath. We definitely like the sounds of this.

3. Fix baskets to the inside of cupboard doors

If you really want to maximise space, consider fixing baskets to the inside of cupboard doors. You can store all manner of items, like sponges, cleaning cloths, and brushes in these for easy access.

4. Keep cleaning products where they’re needed

How many times have you gone to clean an area and not had what you need? If you don’t have room for a cleaning cupboard or area, another approach is to keep frequently used items in their area of use.

This can include handing a cleaning cloth in the bathroom or laundry, so you can easily wipe the sink after each use.

5. Store toxic chemicals on shelves your children cannot reach

When sorting cleaning products, it is also important to consider the smaller members of your family. If you have curious children or pets, we recommend storing toxic chemicals on shelves that are out of reach.

Latches can also be fixed to cupboards if you’re still worried about them accessing items they shouldn’t.

6. Always close and put away cleaning products are each use

Finally, get into the habit of returning cleaning products to their home (and ensuring they’re caps are fixed firmly) after each use.

This way they won’t accidentally get into hands they shouldn’t, and you’ll always know where to find them.
